Bio - John E. DeFeo

John E. DeFeo is President of Venture Advisors, LLC based in Seattle, Washington. Mr. DeFeo has led six companies as CEO and has 40 years of leadership experience in strategic planning, marketing and sales, product development, customer care, TQM/Six-Sigma, manufacturing, and business development.

Mr. DeFeo's experience touches nearly every facet of the telecommunications and medical device industries, including startups, managing hyper-growth, restructurings, global partnerships, turnarounds, mergers, and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in complex capital financings, having raised more than $1.7 billion in private/venture/public markets. Under his leadership, U S West NewVector's cellular business grew from startup to profitability, with over one million subscribers, $1+ billion in revenues, and covering over 60 domestic markets with 3,000+ employees. NewVector's market cap was valued at $9.0 billion when sold to AirTouch.

Mr. DeFeo has managed negotiations and formed alliances with some of the most recognized global corporate partners, including MCI, Sony, Hyundai, Harris, Fluor Daniels, Motorola, Nokia, Nortel, Ericsson, Lucent, and Bechtel. He has been recognized for his keen management style and leadership skills on multiple occasions, including with three U S West Chairman Awards.
